In recent years, Paris Saint-Germain has completely dominated Ligue 1, and the league's management is looking to shake things up through a revolutionary new initiative.
Details: According to L'Equipe, the Ligue 1 authorities are considering adopting an American-style system to determine the champion.
Under the proposed plan, 18 teams would compete in the regular season, after which a final four tournament would take place featuring the top four finishers.
Ligue 1 officials believe that this format would bring greater benefits and, in theory, lead to more teams being crowned champions in the future.
Reminder: Last weekend, the match between Marseille and Le Havre was halted after fans invaded the pitch.
