Reunion in Milan? Amorim wants to lure Man United defender to Serie A
Ruben Amorim is eager to reunite with one of his former Manchester United soldiers.
Details: According to journalist Ekrem Konur, AC Milan are considering a move for Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui before the transfer window closes. Rossoneri head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen on a reunion with the Moroccan fullback, whom he knows well from their time together at Old Trafford.
Milan's interest in Mazraoui is nothing new: back in July, the Italian club identified the defender as a key target and even held initial talks with his agent Rafaela Pimenta. However, United have so far refused to open the door to a sale, as the Moroccan's contract at Old Trafford runs until the summer of 2028. Amorim, who was sacked by the Red Devils in January and took charge of Milan in June, has already started his Serie A tenure with a 2-1 victory over Torino.
For the Rossoneri, signing an experienced and versatile fullback who knows the coach's demands inside out could seriously accelerate the team's rebuild. It's worth noting that Transfermarkt values the 28-year-old Mazraoui at €18 million, and the defender has earned 45 caps for the Morocco national team.
