Return to Birmingham! Aston Villa officially loan Douglas Luiz from Juventus

27-year-old Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz is officially making his return to the English Premier League.

Details: Just a year and a half after his move to Italy, Douglas Luiz will once again don the Aston Villa shirt. The clubs have agreed on a loan deal until the end of the current season, with the Birmingham side paying Juventus €2 million for the arrangement.

The deal includes a buyout option at the end of the season. Should Aston Villa decide to make Luiz's stay permanent, they will need to pay the Turin club €25 million, plus an additional €3.5 million in potential bonuses.

This transfer is especially striking from a financial perspective: just 18 months ago, Aston Villa sold Douglas Luiz to Juventus for €51.5 million. Now the English club is bringing back the experienced midfielder for a significantly lower fee.

It's worth noting that Luiz spent the first part of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest, where he made fourteen appearances across all competitions and registered one assist—a Europa League match against Spanish side Real Betis.

Reminder: Tammy Abraham joined Aston Villa from Beşiktaş.
