Some of Steven Gerrard’s most resounding coaching successes are directly linked to Rangers. Yet, when the time came, the Scottish club’s bosses didn’t seriously consider Stevie G for the job.
Details: According to Sky Sports, the former Al-Ettifaq coach did hold talks with the Rangers board, but he was never a priority candidate and is currently not being considered as a replacement for Philippe Clement.
Former Southampton manager Russell Martin and Davide Ancelotti, son of Carlo Ancelotti and his assistant at Real Madrid, are considered stronger contenders for the Ibrox job.
