Retegui named Serie A Player of the Month for October

Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui has been named the Serie A Player of the Month for October.

Details: Over the past month, the 25-year-old striker played four matches in Italy's top flight, scoring six goals and providing two assists.

Currently, Retegui leads the Serie A scoring chart with 11 goals in 12 matches, three ahead of his closest rival, Fiorentina’s Moise Kean.

Quote: "Retegui's contribution to Atalanta’s play in the first half of the season has been impressive, one of the best performances from a striker debuting with a new Serie A team," said Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo.

Reminder: This past summer, Retegui moved to Atalanta from Genoa for a transfer fee of €22 million.

Earlier reports indicated that Premier League side Arsenal has shown interest in the player.
