Formula 1 star Fernando Alonso has bid an emotional farewell to his physiotherapist, Fabrizio Borra, who passed away on Sunday morning after a long battle with cancer. The Spanish driver posted a touching tribute to his friend on his Instagram page.
Alonso shared several photos with Fabrizio and accompanied them with a personal message to the Italian.
"I will miss you, Fabri. Every single day. Thank you for everything you taught me and for making me a better person and athlete. My entire career with you was the greatest fortune I could have ever had 🤞🏻 ❤️ Rest in peace, brother," Fernando wrote.
Borra worked with Alonso throughout his entire Formula 1 career, starting from his debut season with Minardi in 2001. In addition, the Italian was known for helping Michael Schumacher recover after suffering a broken leg in a crash at the 1999 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
For the record, Fernando Alonso is a two-time Formula 1 world champion, claiming the title in 2005 and 2006.
