Respect! Cristiano Ronaldo observed the sacred fast during Ramadan to understand what Muslims feel
Ronaldo took on the challenge of fasting despite his demanding professional schedule.
Details: According to former Al Nassr player Shaye Sharakhili, 41-year-old Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo last year decided to observe the fast during the holy month of Ramadan, aiming to experience firsthand what Ramadan truly means for Muslims.
This gesture is a testament to Ronaldo’s genuine and heartfelt respect for the culture and country he now calls home.
Ramadan is the sacred month of the Islamic lunar calendar—a time of obligatory fasting for believers. For 29–30 days, from dawn till sunset, Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking, and intimacy, focusing instead on spiritual purification, prayer, reading the Quran, and acts of charity.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in 2023 as a free agent. Since then, he has made 118 appearances for the Saudi giants, netting 112 goals and providing 22 assists. His current contract with Al Nassr runs until the summer of 2027.
