Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi will be able to travel to Canada for the 2026 World Cup clash against Germany.

Details: The 23-year-old forward previously faced issues obtaining entry clearance due to an ongoing investigation in France. Wahi has been linked to a case involving potential betting and a suspicious yellow card received during a Ligue 1 match.

The Ivorian Football Federation initially reported that Wahi was unable to secure permission to enter Canada. However, the situation has since changed: all required documents have now been approved, and the striker is cleared to travel with the team.

According to media reports, Canadian authorities requested additional information regarding the player's legal status before granting entry. After further review, the permission was finally issued.

Wahi can now continue his tournament campaign and prepare for the showdown with Germany in Toronto. The forward had already featured in Ivory Coast's opening match at the 2026 World Cup against Ecuador.

Reminder: As previously reported, Canadian authorities initially refused to make concessions for Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi and delayed issuing his visa ahead of the match with Germany.
