Rescued by snowmobile: tennis legend Andy Murray shares his first skiing experience
Tennis legend Andy Murray shared a humorous story about his first time skiing. Speaking on the Sporting Misadventures podcast, he revealed that his experience ended with him being rescued by a snowmobile.
The former tennis star admitted that his skiing adventure was a disaster right from the start. The difficulties began with the ski lift—upon reaching the top, Murray struggled to stand up without assistance. His wife, frustrated by his struggles, refused to ski with him, leaving him to rely on strangers for help.
At one point, Murray and his brother-in-law decided to take a different ski lift, only to find it had been closed for the entire day. This meant they had to ski back down, but there was a major problem—Murray hadn't learned how to stop.
After falling halfway down the slope, the Scotsman abandoned his skis and tried walking down on foot. However, as darkness approached, he had to be evacuated from the slope on a snowmobile.
Despite all the mishaps, Murray eventually got the hang of skiing and even started enjoying it. He now plans to return to the mountains for another skiing trip in the future.
