Replacement for Ten Hag. Manchester United have agreed a deal with Ruben Amorim
Today, Manchester United has dismissed Erik ten Hag from his position as head coach, and his potential replacement has already been identified.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United has reached a verbal agreement with Sporting Lisbon’s head coach Rúben Amorim.
To finalize the deal, United still needs to negotiate a release fee with Sporting. The Portuguese club is reluctant to let Amorim go, but the coach has requested to leave immediately.
In the interim, Ruud van Nistelrooy, who served on ten Hag's coaching staff, will assume the role of caretaker manager for United's upcoming matches.
Reminder: Liverpool considered Amorim as a candidate this summer but ultimately opted for Arne Slot. It has also been rumored that Amorim could potentially take over Manchester City if Pep Guardiola departs at the end of the season.
