Remembers his home team. Messi congratulates Barcelona on La Liga title triumph

Lionel Messi simply couldn’t ignore the triumph of his beloved Barcelona in the Spanish league. The Argentine star took to his Instagram page to congratulate the team on their triumphant championship victory.
Leo reposted a publication from Barcelona’s official account announcing the team’s La Liga title and captioned it with a simple, “Congratulations!”

Yesterday, Barcelona officially clinched the league title by defeating their local rivals Espanyol 2-0 in the Catalan derby. After this victory, it became clear that Real Madrid could no longer catch up with Barça—with just two matchdays left, Los Blancos trail the leaders by seven points.
It’s worth noting that this Spanish league title, secured by the Catalan club yesterday, is the 28th in Barcelona’s illustrious history. In terms of La Liga trophies, the Catalans trail only Real Madrid, who have claimed the championship 36 times.
Let’s not forget that Messi himself, who played for Barcelona for 18 years, won an astonishing array of trophies with the team. His haul includes 10 La Liga titles, 4 Champions League crowns, 7 Copa del Rey trophies, 8 Spanish Super Cups, as well as 3 UEFA Super Cups and 3 FIFA Club World Cup titles.
