Football legend Lionel Messi is set to take part in an intriguing project as part of a charity campaign organized by the Inter Miami CF Foundation. The Argentine superstar will select his all-time favorite goal from throughout his storied career, and renowned contemporary artist Refik Anadol will transform it into a work of art.

Messi will make his choice and announce his favorite goal on May 22 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The goal will then be immortalized as artwork by Anadol.

"Choosing just one goal out of them all is very difficult—each one is special in its own way, and some are really important or bring back incredible memories. But highlighting one as a favorite for the first time, to make this unique project possible is worth it. There's a strong purpose behind it, and I'm really happy to be part of it," Messi said.

It is worth noting that proceeds from this historic initiative will go toward charitable projects, including an educational partnership between the Inter Miami CF Foundation (IMCFF) and UNICEF, supporting access to quality educational programs for children in five countries across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The final artwork, signed by both Messi and Anadol, is expected to be officially unveiled on June 11 in New York by the world-leading auction house Christie's.
