Relief for Napoli! Scott McTominay successfully undergoes heart procedure
The most important battle for Scott McTominay has ended with good news.
Details: Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has successfully undergone a cardiac ablation procedure after being diagnosed with a mild benign arrhythmia. The intervention was carried out at Spire Manchester Hospital and, according to the club, was completed successfully without complications.
The 29-year-old Scotland international will now observe a rest period of approximately two weeks before being allowed to resume training. The procedure had been planned in advance after doctors detected the heart rhythm issue, and McTominay had previously stressed that he was feeling well.
The midfielder will therefore miss Napoli's Champions League opener against Arsenal on September 9. His return to full training is expected later in September, provided his recovery continues as planned.
It is worth noting that McTominay joined Napoli from Manchester United in 2024 and has since established himself as one of the club's key midfielders. According to Transfermarkt, the Scottish international is currently valued at €32 million.
