Relebohile Mofokeng discloses he knew about his Belgian move three games before last season ended
Relebohile Mofokeng completed the Betway Premiership title winning season with Orlando Pirates already aware he is leaving the club.
Mofokeng joined Belgian side St Gilloise in this off-season from the South African PSL champions fresh from the World Cup where he played for Bafana Bafana.
The midfielder revealed his move came about towards the end of last season, where he won a treble of trophies with Abdeslam Ouaddou's side.
"I knew about it three games before the league ended. As a young player and growing human being, you would want to go to a place where you can grow and develop. It's a great first step for me in Europe, and it's a club where I can move my career forward," he said on Metro FM Sports.
Mofokeng's weakness is known to be his slight physical frame but he revealed this is one area his team will work on as they embark on their our-year deal.
"I don't think that's a problem because I played CAF, in the AFCON, and the World Cup too. Obviously I have to build a bit, but I don't think that's a problem because I can still play with those big people. I can't be built like Mbokazi but the club said they will help me with my physique," he said.
