The Oviedo management is furious over the rescheduling of their match against Rayo Vallecano, which was canceled by La Liga just hours before kick-off.

Details: In an interview with COPE, the club's general director, Agustin Lleida, voiced his outrage at the situation and revealed that Oviedo's lawyers are preparing a lawsuit to challenge the league officials' authority.

Oviedo considers La Liga's decision to cancel the match illegal and an overreach of its powers. According to the club, the league made the decision unilaterally, without consulting the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which could be a direct violation of the 2022 Sports Law. The club is already preparing a claim for compensation for their fans who traveled to Madrid but never saw the game.

Oviedo's first step will be to officially demand that the Disciplinary Committee award them the win and three points. If their rivals are not handed a technical defeat, the club will insist on the immediate rescheduling of the match to minimize disruption to the players' sporting routine.

For the record: The La Liga match between Rayo Vallecano and Real Oviedo was officially postponed due to an unsatisfactory pitch.
