Real Madrid’s next match could be decisive for Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid have failed to win their last three La Liga matches, and the pressure on the head coach has intensified. The upcoming fixture may prove to be Alonso’s final one in charge.

Details: According to Mario Cortegana, the next match could be decisive for Xabi Alonso’s future as Real Madrid’s head coach. If Los Blancos fail to beat Athletic Bilbao, the Spanish manager could be dismissed.

The match between Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao will take place on Wednesday, December 3, at San Mamés. Real Madrid currently sit second in the table with 33 points after 13 rounds, while Barcelona lead with 34.

We also previously reported that Xabi Alonso has been given several matches to turn the situation around. Florentino Pérez believes that if the club is ultimately forced to change direction and dismiss Alonso, Zinedine Zidane would take over as head coach until the end of the season.

Reminder: Real Madrid winger Rodrygo set an unwanted club record that had stood for 123 years.
