After the current season concludes, Al Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, may introduce a new sporting director. This specialist, who is 39 years old and Portuguese, has effectively been chosen by Ronaldo himself.

As reported by Marca, the Saudi club is already in contact with Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro. Ronaldo views the former central defender as the perfect person to elevate Al Nassr to the level of European top clubs.

Hierro was among the candidates for the position of sporting director at Al Nassr as far back as the summer of 2023, but at that time, he declined.

Currently, Hierro holds the position of sporting director at the Mexican club Chivas.

As a player, Hierro spent 14 years at Real Madrid, and as a coach, he led Oviedo and the Spanish national team at the 2018 World Cup.

After 26 rounds of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr is in second place, trailing leaders Al Hilal by 12 points. Additionally, Al-Nassr has been eliminated from the AFC Champions League, losing to Al Ain from the UAE in the quarter-finals.
