Real Madrid spoke about the injuries of Carvajal and Vinicius. What is known so far?
Yesterday's match in the ninth round of La Liga ended positively for Real Madrid in terms of the score, as they defeated Villarreal 2-0. However, the main negative news was the injuries to two of the team's key players, Dani Carvajal and Vinícius Júnior.
After a brief period of silence, the club made an official statement providing a medical report on the players' conditions.

Details: In the 79th minute, Vinícius Júnior sustained an injury and had to leave the field. According to the information released by Real Madrid, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the cervical spine. There is no information yet regarding his recovery timeline, but it can be presumed that it may take anywhere from two weeks to two months. The club has stated that his progress will be closely monitored.
The injury to Dani Carvajal is significantly more serious. He has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, a torn lateral collateral ligament, and a torn hamstring in his right leg. He is scheduled for surgery in the coming days. Recovery from such an injury may take between six to nine months, but a more precise timeline will be available after the surgery. Thus, it is possible that the Spaniard may not return to the pitch for the remainder of the season.
Carlo Ancelotti, the team's head coach, commented on the situation following the match. He mentioned that the atmosphere in the locker room was somber, but at the time of the press conference, he was unaware of the severity of the injuries.
Quote: “It seems to be quite a serious knee injury, but we will have to assess it in the next few hours. The locker room is saddened and concerned because what happened is something that occurs many times in a season, and unfortunately, it has happened to a very important player for us.
He is vital for us due to his experience, professionalism, and seriousness. We will wait; I spoke with him, and he is saddened and disappointed. Right now, there’s nothing we can do about it. We need to wait for the medical examination and then think about his return. I spoke with the doctor, and he told me it’s a knee injury. He didn’t specify what it was. They need to conduct some tests. This is an injury that I hope will be minimal.”
Reminder: Vinícius and Carvajal have joined the team's injury list. Currently, in addition to them, Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, and Brahim Díaz are also sidelined.
Real Madrid currently has only Lucas Vázquez available for the right-back position, and it remains unclear whether they will seek to bring in a new player for that role.
