Real Madrid is preparing new transfers amid Alaba's serious injury
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti commented on possible new acquisitions amid the serious injury of the team's Austrian defender David Alaba.
The Austrian national team player was injured in the 17th round match of the Spanish Primera with Villarreal (4:1).
"We will decide in the coming days whether we will sign new players in January," Florian Plettenberg wrote on social media X, quoting Ancelotti.
After the match, the “royal” club announced that the Austrian footballer was diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee based on the results of a medical examination. The player will undergo surgery in the near future. The timing of his recovery was not reported.
Interestingly, Alaba became the third Real Madrid player this season to suffer a cruciate ligament rupture. Before him, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao had this serious injury.
