Real Madrid is reportedly eyeing a move for Everton's defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Football España, citing sources in England, revealed this interest.

The current head coach of Los Blancos, Carlo Ancelotti, is well-acquainted with the capabilities of the 21-year-old player. It was under the guidance of the Italian coach that Branthwaite made his Premier League debut.

Branthwaite joined Everton in 2020 but spent an extended period on loan. After his recent spell at PSV, the player secured a spot in the core lineup of the Toffees. In the current season, the center-back has participated in 21 matches across various competitions for the Liverpool-based team, although he hasn't contributed directly to any goals.

Among the potential competitors for Branthwaite's signature are English top clubs, namely Manchester City and Tottenham.

Previously, reports indicated Real Madrid's interest in acquiring the services of Sevilla's right-back, Juanlu Sanchez.

Real Madrid currently shares the top spot in La Liga with Girona. On January 10th, Carlo Ancelotti's team will face a derby against Atletico in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup.
