This summer, Atlético Madrid plans to change their primary goalkeeper for the first time in many years. After a decade at the club, Jan Oblak intends to depart.

According to Relevo, Atlético's top candidate to replace Oblak is Real Madrid's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The club is also considering Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili, but the Ukrainian is the priority.

Lunin himself is increasingly contemplating leaving Real Madrid, despite being offered a new contract until the summer of 2029. The issue is that with Thibaut Courtois' return, Lunin will once again be the second-choice goalkeeper, a situation he finds unsatisfactory.

The only obstacle for Lunin is that Atlético are fierce rivals of Real Madrid.

In the recently concluded season, Lunin played 31 matches for Real Madrid across all competitions, conceding 32 goals.
