Razak Simpson Calls for Full Support Ahead of Ghana’s CHAN Qualifier Against Nigeria
Ghana’s defender Razak Simpson has made an impassioned plea for support from fans as the Black Galaxies prepare for their 2024 CHAN Qualifiers against Nigeria. The first leg will take place at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, with the return fixture scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on December 29.
Simpson, who just received his first call-up to the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers after a stellar tenure at Nations FC, feels that the steadfast support of Ghanaian supporters is crucial to the team's chances of winning.
“As we approach the final day this Sunday, I urge every Ghanaian to come out and support us. I always say that supporters are the 12th player on the field. We need you to give us your full backing so we can fight hard because facing Nigeria will not be easy,” Simpson shared.
In the previous edition of the CHAN qualifiers, Ghana triumphed over Nigeria in a dramatic penalty shootout, and the stakes are high once again. This time, either Ghana or Nigeria will be seeking redemption or revenge as both teams battle for a spot in the 2024 tournament.
The victor of the two-leg match will advance to the 2024 Africa Nations Championship, which will be held in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Ghana's qualification might be determined by the support of the fans.
