On July 3, Liverpool striker Diogo Jota tragically passed away. Former teammates continue to pay tribute to the Portuguese forward.
Details: Mexico's striker Raúl Jiménez, who shared the dressing room with Jota at Wolverhampton from 2018 to 2020, did just that in the final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He dedicated his goal to Jota, celebrating with his signature move and revealing a shirt with the forward’s name.
Quote: “He was a fantastic teammate. We shared many great moments, both being key parts of Wolves’ success during those years. It’s incredibly difficult to hear such news about someone so close to you, who was a true friend,” Jiménez commented.
Reminder: Earlier it was reported that Liverpool will continue to pay Jota’s salary to his family until the end of his active contract.
