Rare transfer. Athletic Bilbao have signed one of Braga's leaders

Athletic Bilbao has officially announced the signing of the winger Alvaro Djalo from Braga.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer fee amounted to 15 million euros, with an additional 5 million euros in bonuses. Djalo has inked a 5-year contract with Athletic.

As a reminder, in accordance with Athletic's philosophy, only Basque players, products of Basque football, or individuals with Basque roots have the right to represent the club.

Alvaro Djalo's family hails from Guinea-Bissau, while he himself was born in Madrid. However, at the youth level, he played for the Begoña club in San Sebastian, located in the Basque Country. This detail enables him to play for Athletic Bilbao.

In the current season, Djalo has netted 14 goals for Braga and registered 3 assists across all competitions.
