Raphinha joins Messi and Neymar in elite Barcelona company with rare feat
Brazilian winger Raphinha has achieved a rare milestone in a Barcelona shirt. In the 28th round of La Liga against Sevilla, Raphinha converted two penalties, both in the first half.
According to statistical portal Opta, Raphinha becomes only the sixth Barcelona player in the 21st century to score twice from the penalty spot in a single La Liga match.
Previously, only a handful of Barcelona stars had accomplished this feat: Patrick Kluivert (2002), Samuel Eto'o (2005), Lionel Messi—three times (twice in 2012 and once in 2014), Neymar (2015), and Luis Suárez (2016).
It's also worth noting that Raphinha has now bagged 15 goals in 29 club appearances this season. With a win over Sevilla, the Catalan giants would maintain their four-point advantage over Real Madrid in the league standings.
