Raphinha apologises to Atlético Madrid for his comments

In the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, Atlético Madrid defeated Barcelona over two legs to progress to the next round. After the match, the Catalans’ winger Raphinha made explosive remarks that ultimately forced him to apologise.

Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian winger has apologised to Atlético Madrid following his statements.

Quote: "I apologise for my gesture — it does not reflect my values or my character. It happened in a tense moment when I responded to a fan who treated me disrespectfully last night," Raphinha said.

We previously reported that after the match he claimed Barcelona had been robbed of victory, citing extremely poor officiating. He also hinted at a conspiracy theory, stating that he wanted to understand why everyone is afraid that Barcelona will come and win.

Reminder: UEFA also reacted to these comments and is currently considering possible disciplinary action against Raphinha. It could be very serious.
