Raouf Khaleef: Al-Ahly Capable of Impressing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
Renowned Tunisian analyst Raouf Khaleef offered his thoughts on the chances for Arab teams to compete in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the US from June 15 to July 13.
In an exclusive statement to Telegraph Masr, Khaleef described the tournament draw as “relatively balanced” for Arab teams, with each club having different chances to progress.
He expressed optimism about Egyptian club Al Ahly, predicting a strong performance in the group stage. “I expect Al-Ahly to secure wins against Inter Miami and Porto. However, the match against Palmeiras will be their toughest test in the group stage,” he said.
Discussing other Arab teams, Khaleef highlighted the challenges facing Tunisia’s Espérance (Taraji), Morocco’s Wydad, and UAE’s Al-Ain. He identified Group G, featuring Manchester City and Juventus, as the “toughest group,” posing significant obstacles for these clubs.
khaleef said of Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, "Al-Hilal is a formidable contender." Despite having a difficult group, I anticipate that they will advance with Real Madrid, surpassing Pachuca and RB Salzburg.
Khaleef‘s insights underscore the competitive nature of the 2025 tournament, with Arab teams eyeing glory on the global stage.
