The joy following Fenerbahce's progress to the Europa League Round of 16 last Thursday for Rangers was overshadowed by a punishment from UEFA.

Details: The club's fans displayed a banner reading “prevent the infiltration of foreign ideologies – protect Europe,” which UEFA interpreted as “racist or discriminatory behavior.” The club called this banner “shameful” and stated that they would find those responsible.

Quote: “That the club was accused of such a matter in 2025 is disgraceful, and the contempt for the culprits is shared by the overwhelming majority of our supporters. This accusation will have consequences for the club, and the club is also working to identify those responsible and ensure that they are also held accountable,” said Rangers in a statement.

Reminder: Fans of the Glasgow team also blocked evacuation routes, in which Roma fans were also involved in Bilbao.
