Ramon Catala appointed as Zimbabwe’s new head coach
The appointment of the Spanish coach comes as the Warriors prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which begin next September.
Zimbabwe has a new head coach. Ramon Catala was officially appointed to lead the Warriors on Thursday 20 August. The Spanish tactician will be assisted by his compatriots Mark Sanchez and Vicente Girona Izquierdo.
Zimbabwe’s new coaching staff will need to get down to work quickly, as the national team prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Spanish coach and his technical team will need to put their experience to good use to help the Warriors secure a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
A new head coach has also been appointed for Zimbabwe’s women’s national team. Croatian Stella Gotal has taken the reins of the Mighty Warriors.
