Rafael Nadal returns to his favorite pastime after retiring from tennis
Tennis legend Rafael Nadal remains active in sports even after ending his professional career. The former world No. 1 has now taken up football, Sportowe Fakty reports.
Football has always been a major passion for Nadal. He is a lifelong Real Madrid fan and even showed great promise as a young footballer before ultimately choosing a career in tennis.
"I stopped playing tennis three months ago, but I have now fully adapted. I wasn’t as active as I would have liked, but I have started playing football again, and it brings me a lot of joy," Nadal revealed.
However, the Spaniard emphasized that he is not giving up tennis completely. While he is currently taking a break from the sport, he assured fans that he will eventually pick up a racket again.
Nadal officially retired in November 2024, playing his final match for Spain in the Davis Cup. His decision to step away from tennis was largely influenced by persistent health issues at the age of 38.
