Following their performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Gabonese government has taken drastic action regarding the national football team.
Details: According to Gabon 24, the entire technical staff of the "Panthers" national team has been dismissed, and the squad's activities have been temporarily suspended until further notice.
Additionally, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bruno Ecuele Manga have been permanently dropped from the national team. The harsh measures come in response to the squad’s disappointing tournament results.
Further government decisions will be announced in due course.
It should be noted that at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, Gabon lost all three group stage matches and finished last in a group with Cameroon, Mozambique, and Côte d'Ivoire.
Reminder: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left the Gabon national team after the second round and returned to Marseille.
