Racing Club has finalized the transfer of Uruguayan right-back Gastón Martirena to Spartak Moscow for $10 million, as reported by Bolavip. The Argentine club will retain 70% of the fee, with the remaining 30% going to Martirena's former team, Liverpool of Uruguay.

With this financial boost, coach Gustavo Costas aims to strengthen the squad in five key areas: a central defender, a winger, a forward, a right-back to replace Martirena, and a potential substitute for Maximiliano Salas, whose future remains uncertain.

In attack, Racing has reached a verbal agreement with Colombian forward Duván Vergara from América de Cali. The deal is valued at $3 million, with $2 million offset against an existing debt the Colombian club owes for the transfer of Juan Fernando Quintero.

Additionally, the club is eyeing Ignacio Vázquez, a defender from Platense, and Paraguayan striker Ronaldo Martínez, also from "The Squid." Martínez could serve as an alternative if Salas departs or if Vergara's transfer faces complications.

To fill the void left by Martirena, Racing is considering Tomás Guidara, a right-back from Huracán who will become a free agent in six months. Negotiations have already commenced.

With these strategic moves, Racing aims to build a competitive squad for the latter half of the year while resolving the futures of some of its key players.
