Pyramids FC has formally asked the Egyptian Football Association EFA to give them full credit for their most recent 2–2 Egyptian Premier League match with Al Ahly. According to the club, Nejc Gradišar, Al Ahly's new Slovenian striker, was unable to participate because of registration problems.

Al Ahly announced the signing of Gradišar from Hungarian club Fehérvár last Friday on a four and half year contract. He made his debut on Sunday against Pyramids, coming on at the start of the second half and scoring Al Ahly’s second goal in the 2–2 draw.

According to sports journalist Mohamed Farouk, Pyramids FC believes that Gradišar’s registration process was not completed correctly. The club argues that his player card was issued before his international transfer certificate ITC arrived, violating FIFA regulations. Reports indicate that the TMS (Transfer Matching System) still listed him as Fehérvár player even after the match, and he was only officially registered as an Al Ahly player 2 hours after the game ended.

Pyramids FC is still awaiting the Egyptian FA's formal answer. If the club's complaints aren't adequately handled, they have vowed to take the issue to FIFA.

Al Ahly source responded by confirming that the club complied with all legal requirements and that Gradišar was properly registered the morning of the game following the receipt of his ITC. Al Ahly finished the registration procedure and paid the necessary money on Sunday, January 26. The Egyptian FA also verified that they received the ITC on Friday, January 24. As a result, the player's involvement was accepted as lawful.

As consequence, Pyramids FC leads the league standings with 21 points, while Al Ahly's tied with Zamalek in second place with 20 point. Both teams are still fighting for the championship, and the race for the crown is very fierce.
