Pyramids Crush Djoliba With Six-Goal Thriller in CAF Champions League

Pyramids FC delivered a scintillating performance to thrash Mali's Djoliba 6-0 at the Military Academy Stadium in the final round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
Marwan Hamdy's goal in the seventh minute and Sodiq Awujoola's goal in the second gave the Egyptian team a solid start. Ramadan Sobhi scored a penalty kick in the 60th minute, while Mostafa Fathi added the third in the 53rd. Youssef Obama finished the sweep in the 77th minute, after substitute Abdel Rahman Magdy scored an incredible fifth in the 66th. Djoliba wasted a penalty kick to end the visitors' miserable evening.
With this emphatic victory, Pyramids climbed to 13 points, finishing second in Group D, behind Tunisian side Esperance, who defeated Angola's Sagrada 4-1. Pyramids matched Al Ahly's record as the group stage's highest-scoring team, with 14 goals.
The result spares Pyramids a quarter-final clash with compatriots Al Ahly. Instead, they face a group leader, potentially Al Hilal, Orlando Pirates, or the winner of Group B. This marks Pyramids' maiden journey into the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
