Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been sidelined since December due to a suspension for violating anti-doping regulations. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian made his way to Wroclaw to support his team in the Conference League final, catching head coach Enzo Maresca completely off guard.
Details: When asked if he was happy to see Mudryk in Wroclaw, Maresca was genuinely surprised—he hadn't even realized the winger would be traveling to Poland. Still, he made it clear he’s always delighted to see his player.
Quote: "Honestly, I don't know if Mudryk is already here in Wroclaw or still on his way. Has he arrived yet? I’m really happy that Misha is here," Maresca said at the press conference.
Reminder: Mudryk was suspended from football in December after meldonium was found in his blood. The ban remains indefinite, as neither the player, Chelsea, nor anti-doping authorities have commented on the potential duration of his suspension.
