PSG wants Mbappe to stay, but will not offer a new contract PSG wants Mbappe to stay, but will not offer a new contract

Paris Saint-Germain desires for their striker, Kylian Mbappé, to activate the automatic contract extension clause, as reported by AS.

The Parisians are disinclined to proffer a new agreement to the French footballer. His existing contract spans until 2024. According to sources, PSG's hierarchy presently dismisses the prospect of entering negotiations for a renewed contract with the esteemed player.

The club endeavors for Mbappé to trigger the provision for the automatic extension of the agreement until 2025. Failure to do so would, in accordance with FIFA regulations, permit any club to initiate discussions with the French forward and his representatives from January 1, 2024.

In August 2017, the 18-year-old player transitioned on a loan basis to Paris Saint-Germain. Unofficially, the arrangement included the option to secure his transfer for €145 million (plus an additional €35 million in potential bonuses), potentially rendering him the second most expensive footballer globally, following his PSG counterpart, Neymar.

In the current season, Mbappé has participated in 15 matches across all competitions for PSG, showcasing his prowess with 15 goals and one assist. The approximate value of the French football maestro, according to Transfermarkt, stands at €180 million.
