PSG transfer collapses at the last minute as English club targets Parma goalkeeper Suzuki
The transfer of Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki to Paris Saint-Germain dramatically fell through after a verbal agreement had seemingly been reached between the clubs. According to Fabrizio Romano, the two sides had previously settled on a deal worth around €35 million, with the Parisians even sending a private jet to Italy to fly the Japanese shot-stopper to France for his medical.
However, at the final hour, the transfer was thrown into jeopardy due to complications on the player's side. Sources close to the French club confirmed the deal's cancellation. One of the main stumbling blocks was a disagreement between the club and Suzuki's entourage, particularly over commission issues.
With the move to PSG falling apart, a new contender for the 23-year-old keeper quickly emerged. Aston Villa have already made contact with both Parma and the player's representatives in an attempt to hijack the transfer. According to Romano, the Birmingham club is prepared to offer a package similar to PSG's—over €30 million. Negotiations are already underway, and Aston Villa are looking to seize the opportunity presented by this unexpected turn of events.
