PSG ready to pay €60 million for Barcelona midfielder
The acquisition of a top-tier central midfielder stands out as one of PSG's priorities for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Parisian club has already identified its primary target for this position.
As reported by Diario Sport, PSG's leadership is keenly interested in Barcelona's midfielder, Frenkie de Jong. The reigning French champions are willing to shell out 60 million euros for his transfer, a sum deemed acceptable by the Spanish club.
However, De Jong himself currently has no intentions of changing clubs. He remains content in Barcelona and is committed to fiercely competing for his place in the team.
Earlier reports indicated that De Jong is among the players Barcelona is willing to part with in the summer, aiming to generate the necessary 200 million euros to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
De Jong made the move to Barcelona from Ajax in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee of 86 million euros. In the current season, he has scored 1 goal in 24 appearances across all competitions.
