PSG faces the prospect of losing a key defender for the remainder of the season

Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar sustained an injury during the match for the French Super Cup against Toulouse (2:0).

The Slovakian defender had to leave the field in the 71st minute due to a left ankle injury.

There is a high likelihood that the footballer will require surgery. Preliminary evaluations suggest that the Slovak might miss several months and, in a worst-case scenario, could be sidelined for the remainder of the current season.

Skriniar joined PSG in the summer after departing Inter on a free transfer. In the current season, the 28-year-old has appeared in 23 matches across all competitions, registering one shot on target.
