PSG beat Lens to extend the lead over second place

In the 18th round of the French Ligue 1, the top teams of the previous season, Lens and PSG, faced each other. Lens had an impressive season but trailed Parisians by just one point.

In the current championship, PSG leads with a comfortable margin, while Lens is stuck in the middle of the table. However, the hosts had the first opportunity to score in the match. Danilo committed a foul in his penalty area, but Franckowski failed to beat PSG's goalkeeper with a penalty. Donnarumma demonstrated excellent reflexes and made a brilliant save.

In the middle of the first half, the visitors opened the scoring with a precise strike from Barcola, assisted by Kylian Mbappé. Just before halftime, the hosts were reduced to ten men as Jonathan Gradit received a direct red card for a rough foul.

In the second half, PSG seemed to be waiting for the final whistle, and Lens, playing with a numerical disadvantage, couldn't create anything in attack. In the 89th minute, Kylian Mbappé sealed the match by scoring his 19th goal in the current Ligue 1 campaign.
