"Proud of Lando" – Hamilton on Norris's Formula 1 championship season
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has commented on Lando Norris's victory in the 2025 Formula 1 championship.
Details: The Briton revealed that he gave Norris advice ahead of the decisive race in Abu Dhabi and emphasized just how special his first title is.
"I've been asked a lot, but I'll say the main thing – I'm genuinely very happy for him. Winning your first championship is a unique feeling. Britain continues to produce outstanding drivers. I know exactly what he felt on the starting grid, fighting for his first title. It's nerve-wracking. And I'm really proud of him," Hamilton said.
He also shared the advice he gave Norris on the eve of the weekend:
"I just told him that everything he's done so far is working—he shouldn't change a thing. I think that's exactly what he did."
It's worth noting that Lando Norris became Formula 1 world champion for the first time in his career, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen in the 2025 season standings.
