In mid-August, it became known that the father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, Mounir Nasraoui, had been stabbed. After receiving treatment, he was discharged from the hospital, but the troubles for their family did not end there. The young Catalan talent’s grandmother reported receiving threats against her.

Details: In an interview with Espejo Publico, Lamine Yamal’s grandmother, Fatima, said that after the incident with Mounir, she received personal threats. These circumstances are forcing her to leave her home in Rocafonda, a municipality in Mataró, and move to Barcelona.

It’s also worth noting that while the police continue to investigate the attack on Mounir Nasraoui and the threats against Fatima, these incidents are being linked to Lamine Yamal’s performances for the Spanish national team.

Quote: “After what happened to Mounir, I can’t eat. My stomach isn’t working from the shock, from the fear. I can’t eat or do anything. I’m moving to Barcelona with my son.

Recently, the people who attacked Mounir told me that they have something for me too. But if they want to kill me, I’m here,” she said.

Reminder: Lamine Yamal played a key role for Spain during Euro 2024. However, far-right groups questioned his loyalty to the country due to his display of the flags of his family’s native countries - Guinea and Morocco. Fatima herself stated that her son is Spanish, which may have sparked anger from other Moroccans.

Lamine Yamal has since moved to Sant Joan Despí, where he now lives with his cousin, near Barcelona’s training base. However, he often returns to Rocafonda and recently invited some of his friends for a kickabout at the training facility.
