Problem. Borussia Dortmund rejects Chelsea's bid for Gittens

The 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens has long been on Chelsea’s radar, but so far the Blues have been unable to land their coveted target.

Details: The recent UEFA Conference League winners sent Dortmund an offer for the player worth €35 million, but according to Sky Sports, the German club turned it down. Borussia are reportedly holding out for a higher fee for Gittens—between €50 and €60 million.

Still, the rejection hasn’t put an end to negotiations. Talks are ongoing, and Chelsea are expected to return soon with an improved offer. Gittens himself is eager to continue his career at Stamford Bridge and has already given his approval to join Enzo Maresca’s squad.

Reminder: Earlier reports suggested that Gittens would sign a seven-year contract with Chelsea. The Englishman played 48 matches for Borussia last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists.
