Preparations Begin for Finalissima Between Argentina and Spain

Representatives from UEFA, CONMEBOL, the Argentine Football Association (AFA), and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) held their first official meeting to organize the upcoming Finalissima between the reigning champions of UEFA EURO 2024 (Spain) and the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 (Argentina).

The meeting, held in Asunción during the 75th FIFA Congress, marked the beginning of institutional and logistical preparations for the prestigious fixture. Discussions included coordination of organizational responsibilities, travel logistics, team schedules, and a preliminary assessment of potential match dates, which will be confirmed at a later time.

Argentina, current FIFA World Cup holders, won the last Finalissima in 2022 with a 3-0 win over Italy at Wembley Stadium. The Albiceleste will now face a strong Spanish side aiming to reaffirm its place among Europe’s elite under manager Luis de la Fuente.
