Premier League legend could replace Kompany at Burnley


Following the unexpected departure of Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich, Burnley continues their search for a new head coach.
According to The Athletic, the leading candidate for the Burnley managerial position is another Premier League legend, Frank Lampard. Burnley’s management sees Lampard as the ideal replacement for Kompany.
Currently, Burnley is in advanced negotiations with Lampard.
Lampard's last position was at Chelsea, where he served as interim head coach last season. Besides Chelsea, the legendary former midfielder has managed Everton and Derby County.
It was previously reported that Burnley also considered former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper as a potential replacement for Kompany.
To recap, Burnley was relegated from the Premier League to the Championship after finishing 19th in the season.
