Most media outlets are reporting that the upcoming season will be Pep Guardiola's last at the helm of Manchester City. And now the public is starting to think about who will be the Spaniard's successor at the helm of the Citizens.

His guesses were put forward by former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas, who named one of Guardiola's disciples among the contenders:

"I think Manchester City could offer Mikel Arteta after Pep Guardiola's departure, but I think Arteta will reject the idea.

He did so well at Arsenal and he still seems to have his heart set on the long term, he won't turn down that board connection. If City offer Mikel Arteta, he will turn down that offer," Gallas said in a conversation with Lord Ping.

It was previously speculated that Guardiola could take over the England national team after leaving Manchester City.
