Danny Simpson, the 2016 Premier League champion with Leicester City, has stepped up to defend former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge following derogatory remarks from YouTuber KSI, reports Daily Mail. Simpson even appears ready to take Bridge's place in the boxing ring after the ex-footballer withdrew from their scheduled fight.

KSI made disrespectful comments about Bridge, mocking the infamous incident involving his ex-partner Vanessa Perroncel and former teammate John Terry. The YouTuber’s remarks reportedly enraged Bridge, who nearly confronted him physically before security intervened.

Subsequently, Bridge issued an official statement announcing his withdrawal from the fight, originally set for March 29, citing KSI's personal insults as his reason.

In response, Danny Simpson publicly expressed his willingness to step in for Bridge and teach KSI a lesson. Writing on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Simpson stressed that such disrespect towards athletes is unacceptable.

Simpson has only recently ventured into boxing. He made his professional debut in August last year at the age of 38, where he faced YouTuber Danny Aarons in the ring.
