Postecoglou addresses whether Tottenham will sign a new goalkeeper after Vicario’s injury
This week, it was confirmed that Tottenham’s first-choice goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, will be sidelined for several months due to a fractured ankle.
Head coach Ange Postecoglou commented on whether the London club plans to sign a new goalkeeper in light of their No. 1’s injury.
Quote: "We won’t be signing a new goalkeeper in January. We have full confidence in Fraser Forster. Vicario will be out for several months, but our plans won’t change because of that," Postecoglou told Fabrizio Romano.
Reminder: Vicario sustained the ankle fracture during Tottenham’s victory against Manchester City. Remarkably, the Italian international played 60 minutes with the injury and kept a clean sheet.
Vicario became Tottenham’s starting goalkeeper immediately after joining from Empoli in the summer of 2023 for €18.5 million.
Additionally, Tottenham is also dealing with the loss of their main center-back, Micky van de Ven, due to injury.
