Police detain two Mallorca players. What happened?
Two young Real Mallorca players have been detained by Spain's National Police over an alleged offence involving the distribution of an intimate video featuring a minor without her consent. EFE reported the arrests, citing sources close to the investigation.
The incident took place on 14 August in Palma, at a residential property where the young footballers live. According to the investigation, the girl, who had already turned 16, voluntarily entered into an intimate relationship with one of the players and went with him to a room.
During the encounter, she noticed another young man who had hidden in a wardrobe and was secretly recording what was happening. According to investigators, the recording was made without her consent. The girl subsequently contacted the National Police.
Both players were detained on suspicion of committing an offence. One of them was a minor at the time of the incident, so his case was referred to the juvenile prosecutor's office. The second footballer was already an adult and appeared before a court, which ordered his release.
Following the incident, Real Mallorca decided to remove both players from the club's structure. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement authorities are continuing to establish the circumstances of the incident.
