Mauricio Pochettino suffered another defeat in a final, as his USA side lost to Mexico in the CONCACAF Gold Cup decider. Yet the coach remains undeterred after such a painful match.

Details: The head coach of Team USA stated that the tournament gave him plenty to think about and now there is time to reflect on what needs to be improved ahead of the home World Cup.

Quote: “This was a huge lesson for us. The tournament turned out to be fantastic in the sense that it helped us realize exactly how we want to grow. I believe that’s how we will become more and more competitive and take the place we’re striving for.

When you lose a trophy or a match, it’s really, really painful. But the most important thing is to keep your head held high, because the tournament was excellent and we keep moving forward. That’s exactly how we want to build our journey towards the World Cup,” Pochettino told Reuters.
